IBM Cognos Express
Cognos Express is the newest software line released by IBM Cognos that is targeted for Mid-Market companies looking to satisfy their Planning, Data Analysis, Financial Consolidation, or Business Intelligence needs. This sofware is broken out by the following modules: Cognos Express Reporter, Cognos Express Advisor, and Cognos Express Ecelerator. Cognos Express can be used with one of these modules or your company can run all three of them together.
Cognos Express Reporter
Cognos Express Reporter is designed to meet all of the reporting needs of your business. This solution provides your company with the ability to generate ad-hoc reports or run pre-built reports off of one or more data sources. Reports can easily be built by your busines users by dragging and dropping the required dimensional items into your report. Reports can be setup to run automatically and data can be output in any required format ranging from Excel, HTML, PDF, or email message. Do to the power and ease of this reporting solution your reports can range from Financial, Transactional, Sales, and Production reports. Cognos Express Advisor
Cognos Express Advisor is the Planning and Data Analysis module of Cognos Express. With this module it allows your end users to easily enter a forecast directly over the web or perform analysis of any measure your company reviews. With being a web based application data is shared by all end users and can be reviewed instantly by any person all over the world. Cognos Express Advisor stores your company's information in-memory directly on the application server allowing you to easily and quickly slice and dice cubes, stack multiple dimensions when inputting data, and perform powerful what-if scenario analysis with an unprecedented amount of data. Cognos Express Excelerator
Finance and Business users are naturally comfortable working in Excel. Cognos Express Excelerator is the Excel based solution that allows end users to input and manage data directly in excel versus working in the web interface. All functionality that exists in the web interface can now be done in Excel such as slicing and dicing dimensions, nesting dimensions when analyzing data, and performing what-if scenarios.
